7 Signs Your Phone Battery May Need to Be Replaced
Fast drain is only one clue. Learn the common signs of an aging or failing phone battery and when a repair makes sense.

Phone batteries are consumable components. Their usable capacity and ability to deliver power gradually decline with age and charge cycles. Eventually, the battery can become the reason an otherwise good phone feels unreliable.
1. Your battery drains much faster than it used to
If the same daily routine suddenly requires multiple charges, the battery may have lost a meaningful amount of capacity. Before blaming the battery, check for unusually power-hungry apps, weak cellular signal and recent software changes.
2. The phone shuts down before reaching 0%
Unexpected shutdowns at 20%, 30% or another seemingly healthy percentage can indicate that the battery is struggling to maintain voltage under load.
3. Performance drops when the battery is low
A worn battery can have trouble supplying peak power. Depending on the device, you may notice sluggish performance, instability or shutdowns during demanding tasks.
4. The battery percentage jumps around
A percentage that falls several points at once or changes unexpectedly after a restart deserves attention. Software can occasionally misreport charge, but repeated behavior can point to battery deterioration.
5. The phone gets unusually warm during ordinary use
Some warmth during gaming, navigation or fast charging is normal. Persistent heat during light use can indicate a battery or another hardware/software issue and is worth diagnosing.
6. The screen or back of the phone is lifting
Stop using the device if you suspect a swollen battery. A swelling lithium-ion battery can push the display or rear panel away from the frame. Do not press it back together, puncture it or continue charging it.
7. Battery health indicates significant wear
Some phones provide battery-health information in software. That measurement is useful alongside real-world symptoms, not as the only diagnostic test.
Replacement or new phone?
If the phone otherwise does what you need, a battery replacement can restore useful runtime without replacing the entire device. Tech Guru can diagnose the problem first so a battery is not replaced when the real fault is somewhere else.
